Life is tough for many poor people in Sri Lanka. This Operation Agri Appeal features the work of OA's partners in Sri Lanka - Farms Lanka and LEADS. Both these Christian organisations are committed to long-term development, lifting the lives of families and communities.
OA's chairman, Russell Ashley-Smith and his wife, Gill, spent 3 weeks in Sri Lanka in August 2004, visiting many of the people being helped and the development projects. The Appeal Resource pack is based on photos, stories and other material they gathered.
Since their visit, Sri Lanka has experienced its worst ever natural disaster - the tsunami on 26 Dec 2004. Farms Lanka and LEADS were immediately taken up with relief work, and OA was among the many agencies which provided funds, in OA's case to help the development work get back on track.
OA concentrates on long-term work, and expects to continue supporting this, as our partners help disadvantaged people throughout the island. Income raised by this Appeal will be used by Operation Agri in Sri Lanka, and also in support of OA's work in other countries.

- a poster, colourful leaflets and gift envelopes - a Resource Book packed with information, activities, ideas for children, worship material, recipes, puzzles. - your choice of either OHP transparencies and/or a CD Rom with several PowerPoint presentations, and printable documents, photos and artwork
The video has 3 parts: short 4min, longer 10min, and a 5min children's presentation.
